AIM: To supervise classification and interpret raster image
Material used: Erdas imagine and ArcGIS 10.2
PROCEDURE

Right click on the workspace → open raster image
(The opened fata should be in ‘.img’ format)
If any error is there in the image, it will show by a yellow exclamation mark.
Right click image layer → Recitify
2.Select Raster from the menu bar → classification → Supervise → Signature edit →
a window will appear, in that add the sample signature
Take drawing from the menu bar → Rectangle → Select a portion for sampling
Click on the ‘signature editor/ window that appear sp that the selected sample will be available.
Give the class name for the samples.
Take 5 minimum sample for each classification ( no. of sample selected is based on area of project).
If we repeat the same value, it can be deleted
- Click file from the menu bar of ‘signature editor window, → save the signature edits (save in ‘.sig’ format
- Raster → classification → supervise → supervised classification
Input is automatically taken by the system
Set the ‘.sig’ input
Set the output to ‘img’ format
Hit ok
Processing
- Again right click on the workspace → Open new raster
