ArcGIS Tutorial: IMAGE TO IMAGE GEOREFERENCING

AIM: to Georeferencing the given topographic sheets with the help of satellite image of known
coordinates.

MATERIAL USED

ArcMAp 10.2

PROCEDURE
1.Open ArcMap 10.2 →click blank templates →ok

2.To add image: Add data →select image →ok ; Add both topographical image and satellite image.

And Unreferenced Image of Nilgiri Biosphere reserve

3.To assign coordinate

Select one point on the topographical sheet → add control point →

select the similar point on the satellite image →

add first control point by simply clicking the point itself.

4.Do the same for remaining 3 points.

5.Scroll down one image using swipe tool.

(open effect tool by right click on the task bar)

6.To rectify image(export in tiff format)

Georeferencing →rectify → select output folder → enter file name → ok

RESULT

Image to Image Georeferencing: Here Shp file is georeferenced where as jped is to be georeferenced.
